A couple of weeks ago I saw a stream of posts and comments about doctors in Italy having to decide who received a ventilator (and had a chance to live) and who didn’t. The point was, basically, “see what you get with socialized medicine?”

Nothing like using a global tragedy to score political points.

Now an argument being put forward is, “old people should be willing to die to help the economy.”

I sent my parents a note today thanking them for their willingness to sacrifice so there can be a stronger economy heading in the next election…because it kind of felt like an Onion article…

But it isn’t. However, it is evil. I’m not okay with that, and I hope you are not either.
