Liz, Méabh & I are out in Aurora, IL for a conference with Robby Dawkins at his church on the east side of the city. Last night was the first night of the conference, and I wanted to share a few of my favourite quotes from the night (unless noted, they were all from Robby):

“When our sense of desperation exceeds our fear of embarrassment, the breakthrough comes.”

On why God only showed Moses his backside: “I want you familiar with my back because I always want you pursuing me.”

Quoting Rich Nathan: “The cross was God’s throne on earth.”

There was a bunch of other great stuff too…however Méabh, who is normally the easiest going kid ever, was not having a great night, and so I spent a lot of the time in the other room, where I could hear, but couldn’t write down notes.

We’ll send more stuff out today.

What about Bob?

I grew up in Western New York and have started and led missional church planting efforts for a little over 30 years. As you might gather, I have opinions about the church, and I share some of them here.
