Now that Chaim Bloom has been fired, I do feel bad for him. Last night I did a happy dance around the kitchen once I saw the news. By every account, he was a really good person. Of course, my wife is a really good person, but I don’t want her running the Red Sox…

With All This Smoke, Please Let Bloom Be Fired
It was like Christmas in September, to wake up and hear so many stories saying that Bloom may be gone. You can watch the video here.
I remember when the Red Sox had a GM (baseball ops) that was good at his job. I remember when the Red Sox had owners who cared. I miss those days. ⚾️
Creepy Doll
The image I use in the post post from earlier today has firmly planted this song in my head.
Finished watching 📺 the Good Place. Enjoyed it, but the end was not very satisfying. Although the idea that paradise without YHWH at its centre is, in the end empty (and perhaps torturous) was interesting.
For the first time ever, I am rooting for the Yankees to finish ahead of the Red Sox, so it’s more likely that Boston fires its head of baseball ops. Chaim Bloom has ruined me. ⚾️
Okay, Black Adam🍿wasn’t great, but Dr Fate and Hawkman were two of my favourites when I was a kid. DC should shelve the Justice League and stay with Earth 2 and the Justice Society!
Strange New Worlds is just so good. 📺 🖖 2023-07-06 7:41 pm
Please fire Bloom.
Please fire Bloom. Please fire Bloom. Please fire Bloom. Please fire Bloom. ⚾ Time is quickly running out for Chaim Bloom and his vision of sustainability By Christopher L. Gasper
Just finished rewatching 📺 the first season of Star Trek: SNW getting ready for season two this week! The best first season of any Star Trek, without question. 🖖
I am still debating how much I am enjoying Poker Face 📺, but seeing John Darnielle in episode 4 was a major joy!
Rich Mullins, Keith Green or Who?
I was listening to a recent episode of the Holy Post Podcast and heard Skye Jethani interviewing James Bryan Smith about Rich Mullins, who died 25 years ago. Much of the conversation was about how influential Mullins was on the spiritual formation of many people, especially those coming of age in the 90s. That conversation…
The Best of 2022: 7 TV Shows I Loved
Every year around this time, I want to write up some end-of-the-year best-of posts, but I don’t for various reasons. This year I thought I’d give it a go. So, below are 7 shows that I loved in 2022. A few shows this year raised expectations but failed to meet them (Rings of Power, most of…
it is time to Retire “Yankees Suck”
I just finished chapter 6 in Adam Grant’s incredible book “Think Again”. The topic reminded me of something I posted over on Medium in 2018, but not here on this blog…this seemed like a good time to paste it over here. I get it. The Yankees (and their fans) provided decades of grief. As a…
My Current Top 10 Podcasts
I’ve listened to podcasts for years…when I’m walking, doing work around the house, making breakfast, and when I’m driving (the radio is generally only on if M is in the car with me). And since I listen to them speed up, I can generally get through several over the course of a week. I am…
People of Peace…a resource
We talk a lot about the idea of People of Peace. I wanted to share the link below because it gives some helpful context to the whole idea…and some ideas about moving forward. Alex (the guy in the video) is someone I’ve gotten to know (via email) over the past year and he has been…
Christmas in Ireland
I was chatting with one of our ministry partners last week. He said he’d love to hear about some of the differences between Christmas in Ireland and the US. My perspective of Christmas traditions is limited. In the US, I am only familiar with how we celebrated Christmas in Upstate NY. And here, I am…
A Dream Like Mine
I spent the weekend in Brussels for the third weekend of Forge Training, got back, fixed my bike so I could cycle down to Leeson Park for prayer and worship night with Icon. So I had a bunch of things swirling around in my brain as I went to sleep. I don’t think any of…
I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead
I’m having trouble sleeping.
During my last year or two in Ithaca I had my first real bout of insomnia. Not a ‘days without sleep’ insomnia…not even a ‘I can’t get to sleep,’ insomnia. It was more of a go to bed at 10 pm, “wake up at 2 am and not be able to get back to sleep” insomnia.

Removing Facebook Contacts from Your iPhone
I love my iPhone. When I was in Ithaca it seemed that I was one of the few people I knew who had one. Here it seems everyone and their kids have them.
At this point I am still using an (ancient) iPhone 4. It has a bit of difficulty connecting to wifi at this point, and if you’ve see it you’ve marveled that it still works at all with all of the broken glass. Eventually I’ll grab an iPhone 5, but figured I should probably have a job first.
Please Follow Along
There are a couple social media things I’m happy to say I’ve never done. I have never liked something on Facebook that tried to manipulate you into liking it. (“Please like this if you love Jesus.” ) The other thing I’ve never done is ask people to retweet something I posted on Twitter. (Perhaps that flows from my…
