Last week while I was in the hospital in Rochester for my surgery, friends of ours from the Vineyard were in Cayuga Med having a baby girl. Liz asked Brenna if she could make them a card.
It was amazing and she has agreed to let me share it here.
Thanks Brenna!
A baby, a baby!
Your treasure and joy
She will fill up your house with clothes, diapers, and toys
There are things in your house that she’ll probably destroy
There are people who’ll ask “Had you wanted a boy?”
Have they ever had children?
Do they even know the joy a child brings when they say hello?
Or the sadness you feel whenever they go?
No
She will live for the times she can look at your faces
And soon she’ll discover there’s not better places
Than right in the arms of the family she loves
Surrounded by happiness, kisses, and hugs
Very nice!
Totally honored to receive that poem. Definitely going in the baby book!
